Unit 2C, Flowers Hill – A 1930s Bristol Icon, Reborn

A bold 7,000 sq ft 1930s steel-framed warehouse standing proud in the heart of Brislington, Cadena House is a genuine piece of Bristol industrial history that has been meticulously brought back to life.

Built in the inter-war years, by the 1940s it had become the beating heart of the much-loved Cadena Café bakery operation. While customers enjoyed afternoon tea and Victoria sponges at the grand Cadena Café on Wine Street in the city centre, this very building was turning out tray after tray of cakes, pastries and fresh bread that kept Bristol sweet for years.

The building later served generations as a furniture showroom for Silkox & Son, but in 2021 it underwent a complete transformation: stripped back, reimagined and refurbished to the highest modern standards by 299 Lighting and designers Form & Fable.

Now boasting an EPC Rating A, 97 rooftop solar panels, super-fast fibre connectivity and smart, sustainable systems throughout, Cadena House has emerged as a landmark example of how 1930s character and 21st-century efficiency can sit perfectly side by side on the A4 corridor between Bristol and Bath.

Heritage you can feel, performance you can measure – Cadena House is Bristol history, fully rebooted.
